FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER

The Second Wedge Brewing Co. seeks an experienced hospitality professional to lead our front of house team and ensure an outstanding experience for every customer who walks through our door.

We are an established craft brewery with an onsite two-storey taproom, large beer garden, and retail store. An onsite year-round kitchen will be opening in late May, to be operated independently by Foundry Kitchen. As a brewery, our focus is on fostering craft beer appreciation and providing the best possible beer experience. We actively nurture community relationships through events, partnerships and sponsorships, with a focus on our local trails, cycling and running, music and art. May through October, Uxbridge Farmers’ Market operates every Sunday right outside our door, and Foundry pi wood-fired pizza operates from a shipping container in our beer garden. Our brewery is a popular day-trip destination, particularly spring through fall.

This position is located in Uxbridge, Ontario. This is a full-time position, and includes weekend and evening hours. Diversity makes us strong, and we encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Managing the customer experience
• Beer server hiring, training and performance management
• Serving bar/retail customers as needed
• Coordinating with Foundry Kitchen management and staff to ensure seamless service
• Managing onsite events
• Retail and taproom inventory management
• Upholding health & safety standards
• Maintaining cleanliness, organization & tidiness in all areas
• Staff shift scheduling
• Responding to email enquiries

Minimum Requirements:

• 1+ years managing a high-functioning team
• 2+ years serving customers in a hospitality position
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry 25-lb beer cases
• Ability to move kegs up to 130 lbs with help of dolly
• Valid Smart Serve certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Craft brewery experience
• Cicerone Beer Server or Prud’homme certification
• Knowledge of beer styles and production methods

Compensation:

• $45,000/year starting salary
• Health & dental benefits 50-50%
